The Rovos Rail is a luxury train in a class of its own, combining nostalgic charm with modern comfort. Rovos Rail cabin categories
Pullman Suite: The Pullman Suites measure approx. 7 m² and have two single beds or a double bed that converts into seating during the day. Each suite has a private bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin. There is also air conditioning and storage space.
Deluxe Suite: The Deluxe Suites measure approx. 11 m² and offer more space. They have a double bed or two single beds plus a seating area. The private bathroom includes a shower, WC and washbasin. There is also air conditioning, a safe and a wardrobe.
Royal Suite: The Royal Suites measure approx. 16 m² and have a double bed or two single beds. They feature a separate lounge area and a spacious bathroom with a freestanding bathtub, shower, WC and washbasin.
Rovos Rail facilities
Restaurant: Rovos Rail has elegant dining cars furnished in classic style. Here guests are treated to freshly prepared dishes that combine regional and international cuisine. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in several courses. Meals are accompanied by carefully selected South African wines.
Lounge/Bar: The lounge is comfortably designed and gives guests a relaxed place to retreat to. With comfortable seating and large windows, it's ideal for enjoying the passing scenery. It's a great spot to strike up a conversation with fellow travellers or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the journey.
Observation car: At the rear of the train is the observation car with an open platform. From here, guests can experience their surroundings up close and enjoy the fresh air. It's the perfect place to take in Africa's spectacular landscapes at your leisure and capture unique photos.
