The best time to travel to Malaysia

The best time to visit Malaysia varies by region. The west coast (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi) is ideal from December to February, with pleasant, dry weather for beach holidays and sightseeing. From March to October it's hot with occasional rain, but still good for travelling.

The east coast (Perhentian Islands, Redang, Tioman) has warm, sunny weather from March to September – perfect for beach and diving holidays. From October to February it's monsoon season, with heavy rain and storms, so it's less suitable for travel.

Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak) is relatively dry from March to October, ideal for rainforest trekking and wildlife watching, while the rainy season from November to February brings occasional rain – but travel is still possible. Overall, the months from December to February and from March to October offer the best conditions for Malaysia.
