Good to know

The best time to travel to China

The best time to travel to China is in spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October), when the weather is mild and pleasant. These months are ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities all over China, especially in cities such as Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai as well as in rural areas.

Summer (June to August) is hot and humid, especially in the south, but a good time to visit higher regions such as Tibet and Yunnan. Winter (November to March) is cold, especially in the north, and is great for the Harbin Ice Festival and for less crowded destinations in the south. All in all, spring and autumn offer the best conditions for a trip through China.
